JOB DESCRIPTION

The Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for a multitude of duties related to the reoccurring preparation of timely and accurate consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP. You will be a sounding board for the organization as it relates to technical accounting matters including US GAAP, IFRS and other policy interpretations for complex transactions in the United States as well as global locations. The Financial Reporting Manager must be a self-starter in a fast pace environment, who will be instrumental in using leadership skills in driving process and control enhancements to the global accounting function.

WHAT YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH

  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of timely and accurate consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Research accounting treatment for new issues as they arise.
  • Provide technical accounting expertise and policy interpretation for complex transactions, specifically domestic and foreign acquisitions.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls and improve the close and reporting cycles.
  • Month-end close activities including the preparation and review of journal entries.
  • Review account reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts and ensure that general ledger accounts are reconciled with resolution to reconciling items are resolved monthly.
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts and resolve any issues.
  • Prepare schedules for year-end audit for independent external auditors.
  • Help ensure financial records for each business unit are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
  • Implement, document and maintain effective internal controls.
  • Mentor direct reports and identify strengths and development opportunities through formal and informal performance reviews.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Your Experience and Education (Required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • 6-8 years of progressive accounting experience
  • 2 years experience in purchase acquisition accounting
  • 5+ years of team management experience
  • Strong technical US GAAP and IFRS knowledge
  • International accounting experience and working with multiple business units
  • Public accounting experience
  • Experience working with Net Suite
  • Proven leader with ability to leverage the strengths of the team, help to clarify roles and responsibilities and develop training programs to maximize the organization’s goals.
  • Provide leadership in strengthening internal communication with staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to recruit, mentor, train and retain a diverse team.
  • Ability to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including non-finance managers.
  • Exhibit energy in creating and promote a positive work environment built on trust.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and track record.

Your Experience and Education (Preferred)

  • Public accounting experience
  • Experience working with Net Suite
