Our client is looking to immediately fill a HR and Payroll Administrator positon with a high performing individual who has experience in processing payroll. The HR and Payroll Administrator will be responsible for the entire payroll process for two facilities, so you must be familiar with payroll and tax laws.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for approx. 600 employees at multiple locations (salary & hourly). Currently using Paycor.
  • Responsible for setting up and maintaining schedules to ensure all Federal, State, SUI and FUTA taxes are paid correctly and processing W-2 statements
  • 401(k) plan administrator.
  • Responsible for compliance requirements for DOL, ACA, etc.
  • Benefits administration, Open Enrollment, Wellness Event, Smoking Cessation, change reporting, enters invoices for payment in E21 system, and assist with communicating benefit information to employees.
  • Assists with administration of various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; manage and track FMLA, assists in development and implementation of health care benefits & programs.
  • Prepare and file unemployment claims, appeals, and participate in hearings
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Electronically prepares and files EEO-1 report annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as assigned.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Fill in for HR Manager, as needed
  • Available to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of employment fair labor practices, personnel administration, and tax laws.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong skill level in MS Office.

Education and Work Experience

  • A bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of Human Resources experience or 8-10 years experience with no degree.
  • Prior payroll processing experience required, preferably with Paycor.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
  • Experience with UltiPro is a plus.
