Our Client is a leading manufacturer of storage, organization and transport products, designed to improve productivity and inventory control in nearly every setting. They are looking for an experienced Plant Accountant to oversee the area of cost accounting for the plant accounting functions, including the accurate and timely bill of material preparation and maintenance and standard cost changes; as well as, preparation of various plant financial analyses, cost accounting support and other related duties in the daily administration of the accounting department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all daily aspects of bill of material compilation/maintenance and cost accounting
  • Review and maintain current cost data
  • Perform process analyses: comparisons of standard data to actual manufacturing data including direct labor, mold yields, manufacturing processes and secondary operations
  • Perform transaction analyses: verify the authorization and accuracy of inventory transactions including material usage, scrap, cycle count and miscellaneous adjustments and to implement corrective steps when appropriate
  • Analyze plant production: to create and provide on a regular basis an analysis supporting the reporting needs of the plant and comparison to budgets as required
  • Analyze inventory cost data: to provide data regarding the cost impact on inventory of labor and material changes, the carrying cost of inventory and reviewing stocking levels with inventory management
  • Prepare and maintain various monthly plant reports
  • Perform special projects as required by Manufacturing Controller, Plant Manager and other authorized managers
  • Assist in month end reporting requirements
  • Assist in annual budget process
  • Assist in continuous, consistent improvement of system utilization and policies and procedures
  • Oversee requirements for the plant Sarbanes-Oxley, physical inventory, and assisting with internal and external auditors’ request

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum four year college/university degree required
  • Three to five years of related experience and/or training; preferred
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Proficient computer skills required. Excel, Word knowledge required. ERP experience highly recommended
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
