JOB DESCRIPTION

The Staff Accountant is responsible for domestic and international monthly recurring duties for the Property Management & Corporate Housing Business Units, including preparing and reviewing account reconciliations and various monthly financial reports. This position will help support important accounting projects such as improving utilization of the operating systems, standardizing processes, and be a key player in the expansion of Corporate Housing in the US. This position will be fast-paced, challenging, and will allow for incredible personal growth opportunities in a company that anticipates explosive global growth over the next several years.

WHAT YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH

  • Collect and allocate payments, working closely with the operations teams to keep all customer accounts current.
  • Ensure rents are collected and remitted monthly to adhere to specific deadlines, along with other payables due on a weekly basis.
  • Prepare journal entries and perform reconciliations throughout the month and at month end to ensure general ledger accounts are properly stated.
  • Complete reporting activities based on specific deadlines and requests.
  • Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage financial side of operating systems, including the setup of vendors and customers, as well as ensuring proper tax rates are being used.
  • Prepare and remit certain tax returns related to the Property Management and Corporate Housing Business units.
  • Monitor new business locations to ensure compliance with state and local registrations and tax laws in collaboration with external advisors.
  • Manage supporting financial schedules and assist with the year-end audit, involving independent external auditors
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Your Experience & Education (Required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • 3+ years of experience related experience in accounting

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Solid reconciliation and analysis skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with reporting groups in an international environment
  • Ability to work effectively both individually and as a team under pressure to meet specific deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
