RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administers and monitors Human resource functions
  • Provides administrative support to management
  • Maintains and administers HR policies and procedures; updates employee manuals as needed
  • Co-manages, with the Executive Director, the recruitment, selection and orientation of new staff employees
  • Assist with all phases of recruitment and selection including scheduling interviews, campus visits, recruiting materials, filing, and acceptance and rejection letter
  • Manage employee relations, and serve as an advisor/advocate to management
  • Plan and administer special employee events
  • Facilitate annual student scholarship program
  • Make recommendations for employee recognition
  • Assure compliance with related legal requirements
  • Administer benefits program (healthcare, disability, 401k, FMLA, etc.)
  • Maintain employee personnel files
  • Register and track employee coursework, memberships and associations
  • Coordinate business travel
  • Track vacation and sick time
  • Manage Public Affairs Account (PAC)
  • Manage cell phone distribution, hardware/software and usage
  • Review and approve invoices for payment
  • Serve on and support two committees

REQUIREMENTS

  • General knowledge of HR policies and practices
  • Up to 5 years’ experience, degree not required
  • Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite
  • Detail and task oriented, highly accurate, clerically strong
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • General office equipment usage and knowledge
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Professionalism, confidentiality and integrity
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to represent the company well as the first point of contact
